learning-space is a creative and innovative consultancy launched in 2003, bringing together a special combination of design, facilitation, consultancy and research skills, and many years of practical and diverse experience. Our shared passion is learning, and creating the climates in which people and organisations can learn, develop and flourish. We are always searching to deepen our understanding, and seeking out new spaces and places of inspiration and beauty—learning spaces.

John Mitchell
John has been practising as an architect since 1982, and ran the Nottingham City Council Architects service before leaving in 2003 to set up learning-space with Lesley. He is a talented designer and sensitive facilitator with a strong client focused approach to design. He has successfully developed multi disciplinary teams working collaboratively with schools, communities and not for profit organisations creating shared vision and innovative and exciting design. He is a Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) enabler for Building Schools for the Future and SureStart


Lesley Cramman
Lesley trained as a teacher and taught for ten years in East London comprehensive schools. Since 1988 she has worked as a freelance trainer and consultant, helping a wide range of teams, individuals and organisations to work and think more creatively and effectively. She is an experienced and skilled facilitator, and an expert in organisational learning.


We are based in Nottingham in the UK and work nationally and internationally, on our own and in collaboration with other creative organisations and individuals.
