John worked with the St George’s community and children’s centre to understand and resolve developing tensions. Read more

Sue researched the needs of families living in a disadvantaged area of the London Borough of Hackney, and helped to develop a community nursery, managed by local parents, to meet those needs. She went on to open one of the first Children’s Centres for the local authority – and met Lesley and John when they brought their first child there.
