Workplace planning is too often based on a ‘default’ model suited to office work patterns of 30 or 40 years ago – highly structured, repetitive, and routine work practices and processes with fixed hours, little autonomy and little need for interaction and collaboration with others. This model is rarely suited to the current workplace, where the emphasis is on teamwork, creativity, flexibility, interaction and communication.
