Building Schools for the Future (BSF)

We are working with Nottingham City LEA, a wave 2 BSF Authority, helping develop and facilitate a process of consultation with staff and students.

Work over the last couple of months has included two full day visioning and mapping workshops with the staff of two special schools and starting to plan the consultation programme with the two mainstream schools in the first phase of the City’s BSF programme.

We are currently working with a group of students from one of the mainstream schools to help them prepare a presentation for the national RIBA / EBDOG Learning Environments conference at Nottingham University on the 19/20th September.

We have also recently facilitated a couple of workshops as part of a School works” design festival for Waltham Forest schools.

Creative Space Research

We have completed the first stage of a research project around creative space in schools, with a research bursary from Creative Partnerships

We are now working with Creative Partnerships to help design and deliver an interactive seminar in November to share findings from this and other research supported by Creative Partnerships.

The research bursary has been extended to 2005/6, and during this year John wants to explore work with students to assist them to design their own learning and creative spaces, appropriate to their own learning needs.

Thinking Space

Our thinking space event at Nottingham University at the end of May was a great success. We are already thinking about how we might adapt and develop it for another event in Spring 2006. Watch this space for further details, and contact us if you want any more information about this event.
